Electricity crisis in Karachi: Cabinet committee meeting will hold today

KARACHI: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will chair the cabinet’s committee for energy meeting to resolve the crisis in the city today.

The meeting will hold under the presidency of PM Abbassi. While in the meeting, the committee will present a report regarding to electricity crisis to the PM. However, the committee will ask a report from K-electric and Sui-Southern gas about the electricity crisis. Moreover, the meeting that is going to hold under the presidency of Abbassi, the mentioned personalities will also attend it. Federal Minister for Power Division Sardar Owais Khan Laghari, Advisor Finance, Muftah Ismail, CEO of K-Electric Tayyeb Tareen, MD of SSG K Amin Rajput, and the acting president of Secretary Finance Industry and Trade Mazhar al-Nasir.

Furthermore, the PML-N chief and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif will also attend the meeting. CM Punjab is already there on a two-day visit. Remember that in the increasing heat, the country’s largest city, and economic hub’s dwellers are facing long and non-addressed load shedding. However, it has the highest impact on industries.

Earlier, the city’s industrialists threatened to lock the industries due to lack of power availability. After which various political parties have started holding demonstrations and protests against the load shedding.
