Moscow: Russian chief of Army, Gen Grossimov has said on Wednesday that Russia supports Pakistan’s efforts for peace in Afghanistan.
According to ISPR, Gen Bajwa, chief of Pakistan’s Army met with his Russian counterpart at the Defence Ministry premises in Moscow. During the meeting, Gen Grossimov said that his country is willing and fully supports Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in Afghanistan. Whereas, Army Chief General Qamar Javaid Bajwa said that the impact of the cold war in South Asia is still there and Pakistan wants to get himself out of it.
According to ISPR, Gen Bajwa further stated that Pakistan does not have any aggression against any country. Moreover, he said Pakistan welcomes every step for peace and stability in Afghanistan. And the peace in Afghanistan will benefit the entire region.
On that occasion, Gen Grossimov praised and appreciated the success and achievements of Pak Army in the war against the terror. However, General Grossimov said his country is ready to play a role in establishing peace in Afghanistan.
