Narowal: An assailant attacked Federal Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal at Narowal corner meeting.
According to reports, the minister has injured during the attack. This condemnable incident happened when Ahsan Iqbal was leaving the meeting. However, the police nabbed the attacker and they have shifted him to an unknown place. Furthermore, the police have identified the attacker as Abid Hussain, aging 21-22. Moreover, police said that Abid targeted the minister from a distance of 15 yards and shot him in the arm. Police said that Ahsan Iqbal received two bullets in his right shoulder. According to earlier reports, the bullet fractured Ahsan’s bone of the right shoulder.
After the attack, Rescue personnel shifted Iqbal to DHQ Hospital in Narowal immediately. CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif sent a helicopter to move Ahsan Iqbal to Lahore, which shifted the Interior Minister from DHQ Hospital Narwal to Lahore’s Services Hospital after initial aid. Ahsan Iqbal’s son Ahmed Iqbal told a private TV channel that his father’s condition was out of danger. Ahmed also confirmed that his father was conscious then.
On the other hand, an investigation is underway from the arrested suspect. Police had recovered a 30-bore pistol from him. Furthermore, DPO Narowal, Kishwar said that Abid is reportedly a native of Narowal. After the attack, the Federal Minister thanked God, by confirming his safety in his message on the social networking website, Twitter.

Politicians condemned the incident, occurred with Federal Interior Minister.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi condemned the attack on Ahsan Iqbal and demanded a report from the IG Punjab. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari condemned the incident and said that they pray for his better health. Furthermore, PTI chairman Imran Khan has also condemned the cowardice attack on Ahsan Iqbal.
